Here’s a way to break down the start string:

We need to know the relative lengths of those three parts. In particular, we want to find out what happens when we concatenate them.

Counting from the start, the length of the second part is 3 characters and the length of the third part is 10 characters. If we take the difference of these numbers, 10 – 3, we get 7 characters. At the same time, we know that the second part contains a / symbol, which has a length of 2 characters, so 2 + 7 = 9 characters. The same reasoning applies to the third section, but using the difference of 3 – 10 = -7 instead of 10 – 3.
